In 2017, Steer Economic Development was commissioned competitively to develop the Innovation Strategy for Lancashire, setting out a bold 15-year agenda for innovation development across the County’s sectors, markets, and places.
Building on this foundation, Steer Economic Development was commissioned non-competitively in Summer 2019 to facilitate the first meeting of the new Innovation Board, a daughter board of the main LEP Board.
Our work at the virtual event involved taking Innovation Board members through the context, rationale, objectives, and activities of the Innovation Strategy’s baseline, framework, and action plan, and setting out candidly the likely challenges and traps in progressing the Strategy.
