Steer Davies Gleave strengthens its Aviation and Rail teams

To support our growing markets, Steer Davies Gleave is delighted to announce the recruitment of a number of high calibre experts with global credentials into its Aviation and Rail teams. New recruits include Associate, Paul Cresswell, who joins to develop our air traffic forecasting business and our aviation transaction work, and Principal Consultant, Rob Minter who brings considerable experience to our financial modelling and rolling stock advisory offer.

Paul Cresswell: Paul joins Steer Davies Gleave to play a key role in developing our air traffic forecasting and aviation transaction services.  He brings with him over 20 years’ experience in the aviation sector, much of it having worked in various roles for BAA.  For the past three years, Paul worked for AviaSolutions, an aviation consultancy affiliated to GE Capital Aviation.  Here Paul worked on a range of major airport transactions in Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.  With a breadth of experience, he has advised clients on high profile projects including the sale of Gatwick Airport (the first of its BAA assets sold by Ferrovial) and ‘buy-side’ advice on airport transactions including St Petersburg, Brazil, Madinah, Hochtief’s portfolio of assets, Belfast City and AENA (Madrid).  Furthermore, during his career Paul has worked on a number of schemes where airports sought to increase capacity through the  UK’s statutory planning process, including the Heathrow 3rd Runway project, Stansted G2  and the 2007 Stansted G1 Planning Inquiry.

Rob Minter:  Rob joins Steer Davies Gleave from Eversholt Rail bringing considerable experience to our financial modelling and rolling stock advisory services.  With over four years’ experience in financial advisory on both the buy and sell side of PPP transactions, Rob has worked on a number of high profile projects that include supporting the DfT on two of the largest rolling stock procurement projects ever undertaken in the UK. Rob has also gained significant experience from supporting private sector bidders on the buy side of a number  of transactions across both the transport and environment/energy sectors, providing expertise in financial modelling and financial structuring advice.

New Senior Consultants:  Nicholas Hak joins from MVA Hong Kong, bringing experience in railway operational planning, railway performance modelling and station design, having worked on projects including Diamond Hill MTR station design, and whilst working for RWA Rail,  Laurencekirk Station re-opening, Salford Crescent Station re-modelling and a number of railway franchise bids.  James Steer joins from HS2 Ltd, bringing experience in appraisal and costs, having worked on the delivery of the economic case for HS2, amongst other rail-related projects throughout Government.
